"Official support" should really only matter for driver compatibility, so at the very least every flavor of the same version of Ubuntu (e.g. The only iffy thing up until 3.17 was the rtl8723bs driver, the realtek WiFi module, which was resolved a long time ago thanks to the popularity of Meegopad T01, which is identical to the "Intel Compute Stick" only 60 dollars cheaper and less 1 tiny fan. Any Linux distro with Kernel 3.17 or later will run flawlessly. ![]() It has far too much overhead to be running on this stick and remain practical. Only because Canonical is a commercial distribution that latches onto devices like this like a leach. The further you move away from that the more problems you might run into. are probably fine, and I assume things like Linux Mint that use Ubuntu 14.04 as a base would be OK too. Yeah Ubuntu is explicitly the only version of Linux that's officially supported - Kubuntu and Xubuntu and etc. ![]() But since most of these are a package install away from normal Ubuntu, it shouldn't really be an issue. Kubuntu (my Ubuntu of choice), Xubuntu, Edubuntu, Mythbuntu.(not sure if all of these are still around). Well Ubuntu does have various flavors as well, e.g. We imagine the various flavors of Ubuntu will install and run just fine, but Ubuntu itself is the only one that’s officially supported.
